2018 Golden Globes: The Winners Are…

The 75th annual Golden Globes took place on January 7, 2018.

Hosted by Seth Meyers, the award show honored the best in film and television in 2017.

The big winner in the movie category was Three Buildings Outside Ebbing Missouri.

This black comedy drama film follows a mother whose daughter was murdered, and the local police are unable to find a suspect.

In response, she sets up three billboards in order to attract people to the unsolved crime.

The movie won four awards, including: Best Drama Film, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Screenplay.

In the TV category, the big winner was Big Little Lies.

The new drama mini-series won Best Mini-series or Television Film and Best Supporting Actress.

Other special awards of the night included Oprah Winfrey winning the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award.

Also, Simone Garcia Johnson, daughter of Dwayne Johnson, became the first Golden Globe Ambassador.

Other movies that won awards were Lady Bird, The Greatest Showman, The Disaster Artist, and The Shape Of Water, the latter having the most nominations with seven.

Other TV shows that won awards were This Is Us, The Handmaid’s Tale and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
