Students at the high school participated in the Mental Health Day on April 17. In the morning students listened to a motivational speaker and, in the afternoon, students were able to decompress with choices from a variety of different activities. The students had different options to pick from in order to take a break from schoolwork and reduce stress levels a few weeks before state-mandated testing.
Motivational speaker Rohan Murphy addresses the student body about how he overcame his daily life challenges while having no legs, including becoming a collegiate wrestler at Penn State University. At every school Murphy speaks in, he always talks about his achievements in life. “I’ve always told people my biggest achievement in life despite not having legs,” Murphy said. “I'm always happy! I was [happy] because I was able to accomplish my goals.”
