10 seniors were selected for the Homecoming court for the 2025-2026 school year. The Homecoming queen will be announced Friday, Oct. 10 prior to the football game. Voting will take place during school hours on Oct. 9 after the annual pep rally. The annual Homecoming dance will take place Oct. 11 in the commons area of Susquehannock High School. The theme is “Fly Me To the Moon.”

Jillian Dance
While attending Susquehannock, Dance dedicates a lot of her time towards a variety of clubs, sports and organizations. She has been a part of the varsity lacrosse team, FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), the pre-school teaching program at Susquehannock called the Growing Tree in which she serves as the Senior Director, Big Buddy, Unified Club, the National Honor Society and was the founder of the Sign Language Club. Outside of school, Dance enjoys spending time with her friends and family, cooking and baking and making art (especially painting). “I’m so honored to be on the court and feel so loved,” Dance said. “I was so excited to hear about who else is on the court, so I'm thrilled to spend time with these girls!”

Niamh Fanning
Inside of school, Fanning has been an active member of the varsity girls soccer team all four years. She was named captain her junior year and continues this honor through her senior year. She is a part of the Unified Club, National Honor Society, founded and was President of the Sports in College Club, Literary Magazine, Link Crew, and varsity Track and Field. Outside of school, she has volunteered with the Challengers soccer program where she helps kids find a love and passion for soccer by teaching them how to play. "I am so appreciative to be one of the girls that represents our senior class,” Fanning said. “Our senior class is made up of creative, athletic, funny, smart and kind girls, and I am so happy to be a part of it."

Mackenzie Hodge
Within the walls of Susquehannock, Hodge is heavily involved with the girls tennis team, serving as captain for both her junior and senior year. She has also been the president of Student Council both her junior and senior year, along with participating in the National Honor Society, Grain or Shine, and being the president of Warrior Council both her junior and senior year. Outside of school, Hodge enjoys watching movies and spending time with the people she loves. “It was a shock, yet an honor to be nominated for homecoming court,” Hodge said. “I am grateful to share this experience with friends and peers.”

Lauren Kalmanowicz
While at Susquehannock, Kalmanowicz has been involved with the girls swim team, serving as captain both her junior and senior year. She is also a part of FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), a member of the National Honor Society, Link Crew and Big Buddy. Outside of school, she enjoys swimming and spending time with her family and friends. “Being nominated for Homecoming court means so much to me,” Kalmanowicz said. “It’s a great experience, and I’m so glad to be going through it with such amazing girls. I am so appreciative and thankful for this opportunity!”

Julia Saidel
Saidel has been involved with the varsity girls soccer team for the past four years of her high school career. Alongside that, she has been a part of the National Honors Society, the Big Buddy program and Link Crew for the past two years. When not participating in her school activities, Saidel loves to bake, spend time with her friends and family and get involved with the community by volunteering with a variety of organizations/places. “Being nominated for homecoming court means so much to me because it shows the love and support from my classmates and makes me grateful for all the memories we’ve shared together,” Saidel said. “I’m so happy to be on the court with such a great group of girls.”

Sophie Sedgley
While in school, Sedgley has been part of the Literary Magazine for the past four years, serving as president throughout that time. She has also been a part of the Student Council during her junior and senior year, has been the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the school's news website, the Courier, has tutored students both in/outside of school and is a member of the National Honor Society. Though she shines in the classroom and through her extracurricular activities, Sedgley’s impact extends far beyond the walls of her school. Outside of school, she is working her way up in the film industry by working on sets or volunteering at film festivals, as well as shooting her own work. In addition, she has been doing horseback riding and dressage since she was 3-years-old, has completed two half marathons just this past year, and works/volunteers at the Farmyard LLC, where she teaches horseback riding lessons, leads birthday parties, gives animal tours and works in the snowball stand. In her free time, she enjoys painting, photography and drawing outside of school. “I am grateful to be nominated for Homecoming Court, and I really admire the others who were chosen,” Sedgley said. “It feels good to be part of such a great group of girls.” Photograph Courtesy of Sophie Sedgley
Caroline Simpson
In school, Simpson has been a dedicated and active student, balancing academics, athletics and extracurricular activities with ease. She has been playing soccer since the age of five, playing for both the Susquehannock's varsity girls' soccer team and the PSA Rage York club team. In addition to soccer, Simpson has also ran for the track and field team as a hurdler, earning her several awards. Other activities that she has been a part of at Susquehannock include Big Buddy, Unified Bocce, Unified Club, lacrosse, tutoring and National Honors Society. Outside of school, she has performed as lead actress in summer theater and is a former competitive gymnast in the York area. Simpson loves connecting with her peers and attributes much of her success to the support and guidance of her sisters, parents, grandparents and coaches. “Being elected for Homecoming Court is an honor,” Simpson said. “I am incredibly grateful for my friends and peer support in believing in me.”

Emily Walker
During her time at Susquehannock, Walker has been a member of the varsity girls soccer team, serving as captain her senior year. She has also been a part of the varsity track team for 2 years, being a captain her junior year, along with being on the Lacrosse team, National Honor Society, FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and Link Crew. Outside of school, she volunteers in the children's ministry at her church, plays club soccer, and enjoys spending time with her friends and family. “Being on the homecoming court was exciting news, and I am grateful to share this experience with my friends,” Walker said.

Kendall Woods
Throughout her years at Susquehannock, Woods has been a member of the Student Council for all four years, serving as Vice President her junior and senior year. She has also been a part of the Susquehannock Courier, serving as Editor-in-Chief and Co-Editor-in-Chief for the past three years. Woods has also been involved with the track & field team, served as the head of the Tutoring Center her senior year, and was a member of the National Honors Society and Warrior Council. Outside of school, she is the PA Delegate for the Youth Leadership Council, a year-long NRECA program that prepares high school leaders to serve rural communities and the cooperative movement. Finally, she enjoys volunteering at the local VFW, raising money for THON and spending time with her friends and family. “Being a part of Homecoming Court is an amazing honor that I never would have imagined I would have,” Woods said. “The group of girls that are on it are people I admire and respect, so I am truly lucky to be surrounded by them to really make this memory special.”

Cara Zapach
Zapach has been a part of the varsity field hockey team and girls lacrosse team all four years of her high school career. In addition, she has been a part of the Susquehannock Link Crew and Big Buddy programs. Outside of school, Zapach spends her time playing club field hockey and enjoys spending time with her friends and family. “I am grateful to have been selected onto the court with other kind, admirable girls,” Zapach said.
