The women’s 400 freestyle relay took seventh 7th place, made up of Gracie Burton, Ilia Swenson, Ables and Kalmanowicz.

Ables was pleased with the group’s performance at the “intense and fun” district competition and cites their bond as key cause to their success.

“We all tried our best, we all left it out there,” Ables said. “…we all try to be supportive of one another, and we’re on deck as much as possible.”

Kalmanowicz took seventh place in the 100 meter butterfly and fifth place in the 100 meter backstroke.

Sophomore swimmer Keitaro Nguyen medaled in the mens 200 freestyle relay at the competition. He admitted to enjoying the setting of the competition.

“My favorite meet is at Districts,…Cumberland Valley, because the pool is nice,” Nguyen said.

Meanwhile, Ables appreciates the adrenaline from the relays with teammates.

“Racing in the relays and cheering on my teammate,” Ables said. “It just shows sportsmanship, even though swimming is pretty much an individual sport.

The girls team finished their regular season (4-3), and the boys finished with a record of 1-6.
