The improv club finds new ways to be creative every other Friday in room 204.
Hosting meetings during homeroom, the new improv club is open to any and all high school students, inexperienced or not. The club practices different activities and scenes during their 30-minute sessions. Whether the members are building a scene around a tree, in what the founders call “Tree Game,” or they have to work with two words in a limited amount of time, games are different every meeting.

Junior club founder Joe Brady created the club to bring more interest to performance.
“The…plan is to get people possibly more comfortable into acting and if they wanted to join…the theater,” Brady said.
Not only is the club meant to act as an intro to theatre, but it is also known for its friendly and supportive environment. Club adviser Jessica Beste recognizes how the club advocates for growth in acting skills and creates an easy-going place for students to learn.
“…just being vulnerable with each other about topics… I think that’s really powerful,” Beste said. “You know, no one takes it too seriously.”

The club also has bigger and better dreams for its future. Sophomore Jacob Rhoads and Brady expanded on what that means for the club.
“…one goal is to have an improv show,” said Rhoads.
Brady noted more complex goals for the future.
“…we want to have a show on the stage that way we can put on a show with multiple games,” Brady said.
The Improv Club continues to invite new members and is open to any students who are interested in joining.
