“Pokémon Legends ZA” is the newest game in the Pokémon franchise, but the game is yet to meet the high standards of Pokémon fans.
The game has been selling well, according to Nintendo Life, selling 5.8 million copies in the first week of being out, drawing in Pokémon fans from around the world. The game did so well because its predecessor, “Legends Arceus,” is considered to be one of the best Pokémon games of all time, according to a Nintendo Life guide.
The game has not done nearly as well as its predecessor with selling around 700,000 fewer copies, and the game is said to be worse by those who have played it so far. While the game has received some negativity, it is a Pokémon game and is still a great game. A lot of online critics have said that the game is not reaching its full potential, but with the downloadable content already announced, it may get better and bring in more fans.
Bringing in the best-selling rate of a physical copy version of a video game in the United Kingdom and while not beating its predecessor, “Pokémon Legends Arceus,” it is still entertaining.

“Pokémon Legends ZA” has brought to Pokémon a new battle mechanic, which completely changes the battle system. They have made “Pokémon Legends ZA” have an action-based battle, meaning that the Pokémon have cooled down on their moves in the battle instead of the classic turn-based battle system. This battle mechanic adds so many new possibilities when battling and building your Pokémon.
Along with a new battle system, “Legends ZA” has brought back Mega evolution. This is a battle form certain Pokémon can enter to make them more powerful. In order to mega evolve a Pokémon, it needs to hold a mega stone of their breed. Meant for their breed.
The story has multiple quests and sections that you need to beat in order to complete the game. You need to compete in the ZA Royale, which is a battle tournament where you have to go from rank Z to rank A. Next, you have to get the Pokédex (a device that gives you a Pokémon’s information after you capture it) filled out and complete quests for a professor. You also can help out the folks in the city and complete quests for them.
If you want to play this game, you can purchase it for $59.99 on the original Nintendo Switch or $69.99 for the Switch 2 version of the game.
Overall, “Pokémon Legends ZA” is a game that you can play to relax and chill, while also being competitive in an engaging plot with great Pokémon.
