This year’s fall play “Our Town” brings a timeless production to the stage.
The play “Our Town”by Thornton Wilder is a three-act play that tells the story of everyday life in a small town in New Hampshire called Grover’s Corners in the 1900’s. The play is narrated by the “Stage Manager” who guides the audience through the story.

In Act 1, titled “Daily Life,” the audience will meet two neighboring families, the Gibbs family and the Webb family, the simplicity of their lives, routines and friendships.
Going into Act 2, titled “Love and Marriage,” the audience will witness the growing relationship between George Gibbs and Emily Webb. In the last act, Act 3, titled “Death and Eternity,” takes place in a graveyard and reflects on life and death and how ordinary people often overlook the beauty of everyday moments. With minimal set and focus on dialogue and emotion, “Our Town” invites the audience to look beyond the surface of daily life to appreciate the overlooked moments that make life special.
“Our Town” shows universal themes of community, love and the nature of time.
The Susquehannock theater department will perform on Nov. 14 and 15 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. in the Richard D. Hupper Auditorium. Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $6 for students and seniors.
