The boys soccer team has had a victory-laden 2025 season.
Captain and YAIAA leading goal scorer Junior Ablov Bangura has led the Warriors to a 15-0-2 record through the end of the regular season and has high hopes for the rest of the postseason.
Head Coach Brett Maxwell appreciates the strong leadership of Ablov.
“Ablov has been the top scorer in the county for a while and makes a big impact as a captain,” Maxwell said. “Along with Ryan Beckett, who is the number two scorer in the county…. We are really good all around.”

Many Warriors also mentioned how their back line has been making a huge difference in games. The back line is the three to five players that are the closest to their own goal, besides the goalie, and can make a big difference on playing defense and counter attacks.
Senior Defender Kyle McCarty sees the whole team pushing for growth.
“We are really strong all around,” McCarty said. “The back line has been making a huge difference for us. In the game versus Cocalico, we had to play a lot of defense. And without our back line being so strong, we would have probably lost the game.”

The Warriors have a strong future ahead of them. Returning and new teammates recognize the underclassmen who have been making a huge impact on the varsity squad.
Freshman Henry Solomon notices how the underclassmen on the team have made their presence shown and made a big impact.
“We have a lot of underclassmen making an impact,” Solomon said.“(Sophomores) Jayden Beckett, Nathan Calcagno, Holden Plumb and (freshman) William Chesko are getting quality time on the varsity squad.”
The Warriors still have districts and a lot of work left to do. To make their state tournament dream come true, they can’t focus on what the state tournament is going to look like, they need to focus on the present.
“We need to take the season one game at a time,” Maxwell said. “We can’t focus on states if we aren’t there yet.”
It is a long season for the soccer team and in order to achieve their goals, they need to focus on what’s important right now and not in the future.

After losing in the semi-finals of the YAIAA playoffs, the Warriors turn their attention to the District 3 playoffs. The Warriors have a home match on Oct. 20 to start that tournament. They face Daniel Boone High School in a tough first-round matchup in the PIAA District 3 tournament. This will be the first time the Warriors face the Blazers in the 2025 season.
