Trained professionals from Glen Rock E.M.S. and F.D. worked with students from the E.M.T. course during a mock crash to teach the students what they will need to know and what they will be dealing with when it comes to severe car crashes with entrapment.
Students from the E.M.T. training class work to support the necks of students portraying the patients in a mock wrecked car. Supporting someone's neck after a car crash is crucial to prevent further injury and potentially catastrophic outcomes. It's important to immobilize the neck to protect the spinal cord and minimize the risk of paralysis or other spinal injuries. Photograph by Peyton Elmore
