The Homecoming Court for the 2024 school year has been selected. The Homecoming Queen will be announced on Friday, Sept. 17 at the annual Homecoming White-Out football game. Voting will take place during school hours earlier that day, starting during the Pep Rally.
Madi Bartlett
Bartlett dedicates a lot of her time towards the girls varsity soccer team as this is her fourth year being a part of the team. She is involved with Big Buddy, serving over 20 hours at Shrewsbury Elementary. Within the community, she spends many hours volunteering, including serving more than 20 hours at the Paul Smith Library. She is also a part of a club soccer team with the organization PA Classics. “Being elected for homecoming court is something that I appreciate so deeply from my peers,” Bartlett said. “I enjoy being able to represent Susquehannock in positive ways, as well as demonstrate leadership qualities for others to look up to.” Photograph Courtesy of Madi Bartlett
Vicky Chen
Inside of the school’s walls, Chen dedicates a lot of time in a variety of clubs, sports and organizations. She is the president of Grain or Shine, the Tutoring Center’s Director/President, a Warrior Council representative, the Multicultural Club Communications Officer, participates in book club, and is number one for girls doubles on the varsity tennis team. She has also participated in student council and class council during her time at SHS. When not participating in the vast amount of activities within the school, she enjoys baking, watching movies/c-dramas, hanging out with friends and volunteering at the local library. “Being nominated for homecoming court came as a surprise, but I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity.... Kaitlyn Cunningham
Largely involved with the school, Cunningham has been involved with the girls tennis team, Multicultural club, Hiking club, Unified club, Aevidum and the Big Buddy Program. She spends a lot of time with the Unified Program as a part of the Unified Track team and the Unified Bocce team; she finds this to be a good way to stay connected with her twin brother, Eric, and she loves all the other kids and people involved. Outside of school, Cunningham has worked with Nixon Park Nature Discovery Camp as a volunteer for three years and worked with all ages in order to get them more engaged and knowledgeable about nature. “Being a part of the homecoming court is such an amazing opportunity, and I am excited to be able to participate in this tradition and create memorable moments,” Cunningham said. “It may sound silly, but it makes me feel like I am in a Disney Channel original movie. Cassidy Derkosh
Inside of school, Derkosh has participated in varsity cheerleading all four years of high school and is now currently the team captain. Additionally, she has helped manage the track and field team for three years, been a part of Link Crew and has helped out with Big Buddy. Outside of school, she babysits on the weekends and enjoys hanging out/working with the kids. “To me, being elected on homecoming court means getting a huge opportunity to be an example for people younger than me,” Derkosh said. “My goal is to be a great role model for them and someone to look up to.” Photograph Courtesy of Cassidy Derkosh
Rachael Diggs
Diggs is a part of the girls tennis team, multicultural club, Link Crew and the Unified club. When not in school, Diggs enjoys playing tennis, going on runs and baking. “Being on homecoming court is truly a meaningful thing to be in, and I am very grateful that my peers decided to elect me into having this opportunity,” Diggs said. Erin Jackson
Jackson is heavily involved within the school's sports community, playing varsity soccer, varsity basketball and varsity lacrosse. She is a part of NHS, the Big Buddy Program and Link Crew. She is also one of four senior-representatives for the Student Council. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, especially while at the beach. In her free time, she helps out with the youth sports as a coach in order to help them improve and likes doing hair and makeup. “Being on court makes me feel loved and appreciated by the senior class,” Jackson said. India Lester
While in school, Lester is a part of the varsity tennis team, the National Honor Society, Link Crew, Multicultural club, gardening club and Unified lub. Outside of school, she volunteers at local food drives that are hosted by her church. In addition, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and going shopping. “Being on homecoming was shocking news for me,” Lester said. “I’m not the most extroverted person, so I am honored that my peers voted for me to be on homecoming court. Ava Lund
In school, Lund is a member of the National Honor Society, Big Buddy Program and Link Crew. With her time outside of school, she participates in cross country, swim and track and field. Wagner has been a part of the Girls Soccer team here at Susquehannock for all four years of her high school career.
