This year’s homecoming comic book-themed dance was better than the student council members could have ever planned.
The dance was held in the high school’s gymnasium from 7:00-10:00 p.m., costing $10 admission with over 400 tickets sold.
Senior Olivia Bond was as excited as she’s ever been for homecoming.
“I couldn’t wait. I love getting ready, my hair and my nails done; it’s really just the best feeling,” said Bond. “The dance itself was so fun, getting to dance with my friends and enjoy myself. It went way too fast.”
There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes for the dance and business teacher Kellin McCullough is a part of that.
“We spent many hours thinking and planning for homecoming,” said McCullough.” It’s rewarding to watch the students get so excited for the dance and it shows that all the time that the student council spent was worth it.”
For some, their favorite part of the day is getting ready, but for others, they enjoy dancing much more.
“The dance was awesome. All the grades aren’t separated for once; we are all one big group enjoying themselves,” said Bond.
The gymnasium was decorated the morning of homecoming thanks to student council members such as senior Katie Norris sacrificing their valuable time getting ready.
“The gym normally gets set up in the morning, leaving time for students to get ready for the dance,” said Norris. “This year took about two hours to decorate because of all the decorations we had to hang. The gym looked really nice.”
This year movie posters were hung all around on the walls with christmas tree lights hanging to provide a bit of light, a compromise for the students and administration
