After Miley Cyrus’s scandalous VMA performance and the release of her two singles “Wrecking Ball” and “We Can’t Stop,” there has been a lot of controversy leading up to the release of her new album Bangerz on Tuesday, October 8.
Bangerz is Cyrus’s fourth album but is her first album in three years in which she is a more mature, true to herself artist compared to her previous Hannah Montana image. The album is more professional and shows Cyrus as a serious music producer. Cyrus’s music has changed its target audience from young children to teenagers and young adults.
This album is a new start for Cyrus who is trying to take over the world of pop. As Cyrus said to MTV in her recent documentary “Miley the Movement,” “Bangerz is bigger than just a record. It represents taking over the world.” With this goal of taking over, Cyrus has done everything to get people to talk about her, whether it’s through good attention or not. This can be seen in her VMA performance which left viewers talking for weeks. In her act Cyrus was caught twerking with a foam finger and dancing with large teddy bears.
This album features Future, Britney Spears, French Montana, Nelly and Big Sean with production from Mike WiLL Made-It, Pharrell, Sean Garrett, Stacy
Barthe and Dr. Luke. Bangerz contains thirteen songs, and the tracklist is as follows: 1. “Adore You,” 2. “We Can’t Stop,” 3. “SMS (Bangerz)” (Feat. Britney Spears), 4. “4×4” (Feat. Nelly), 5. “My Darlin’” (Feat. Future), 6. “Wrecking Ball,”7. “Love, Money…” (feat. Big Sean), 8. “Get it Right,” 9. “Drive,” 10. (Song title*) featuring French Montana, 11. “Do My Thang,” 12. “Maybe You’re Right,”13. “Someone Else.”
Throughout the album Cyrus is able to keep listeners interested with slower songs such as “Adore You” to faster more upbeat songs like “Love, Money…” and “4×4.”
After the release of her album, Cyrus made it to the number one spot in the Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. Although Cyrus and her album Bangerz are very controversial, the album has been successful so far, remaining in the top ten for the first week of its debut.
