Junior Sam Sedgley Takes Home State Competition Win

Junior Sam Sedgley won first place in the 3D Design category in the PA Media & Design Competition State Finals at Elizabethtown College on May 20 for his Kiddocapp creation.

Sedgley won first place at the regional PA Media and Design Competition earlier this month as well.

Sedgley has described his helpful creation.

“[It is] A toothpaste cap for kids that [makes] it easier for them to open on their own,” Sedgley said.

Sedgley’s design was influenced by a conversation with SHS engineering teacher JC Lewis about struggles some younger kids may have with basic mechanical functions.

The cap comes in several colorful, fun and easy to use caps for kids.

Sedgley was presented with a 150 dollar award check to continue research and development for his creation.
