One of the few reasons Ultraman is loved is summed by best by Tokusatsu Youtuber, Blunova.
“Ultraman’s love for us is Christ-like in nature,” Blunova said.
The Japanese show “Ultraman Omega” will be the 31st entry in the franchise and will premiere on July 5, 2025.
Since his debut on July 10, 1966, Ultraman has been a face for many children and adults around the globe. But since the first show, directed by the one and only Eiji Tsuburaya, came to an end in the spring of 1967, the public demanded more. Now Tsuburaya productions is releasing a new variant of Ultraman almost every year. And 2025 has introduced us to a new Ultra- “Ultraman Omega.”
The newseries is directed by Masanori Takahashi, who previously worked on “Ultraman R/B” and “Ultraman Decker.” While there isn’t much information about the show yet, there are still many things about the character that we can infer.
One inference is that Omega might be in the same universe as the previous show “Ultraman Arc.” Ultraman Arc was in a separate universe from the past Ultras in order to bring a new start for the next generation of young viewers. Omega
has a similar pattern structure like Arc on the waste down to the knee caps, inferring that Arc and Omega are possibly brothers. Omega also has an “Ultra Slugger” that he pulls out of the top of his head, a lot like Ultraseven, who was the second installment to the Ultra series in 1967 (not counting “Ultra Q”). With these characteristics, Ultraman Omega might be a direct sequel to Ultraman Arc and may exist in in the same universe. While all of this information could be wrong, as the show has not yet aired, we can still speculate what Ultraman Omega has in store for the millions of Ultraman and Tokusatsu fans around the world.
Ultraman Omega will most likely be airing in Japan on TV Tokyo, but as the newer series often are, it should also be on the official Youtube channel, “Ultraman Official.”
Whether you’re a fan of the franchise or not, Ultraman Omega has created a lot of fan hype around the globe. Whether you’re a sci-fi fan, a kaiju fan, or just want to watch something new, “Ultraman Omega” is highly recommended.
