SHS organizations are working to support families across the community. These organizations are looking for students, parents and staff to do a good deed this holiday season and help those in need.
Grain or Shine Bakes to Aid Hurricane Relief Efforts
Hurricanes cause extensive damage to the areas that experience them. To help support the affected communities, the Grain or Shine club is selling different baked goods.
These goods include red velvet cookies, birthday cake pops, chocolate-dipped pretzels and sugar cookies. All profits made from baked good sales will be donated to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund.
Families can pre-order baked goods until Friday, Nov. 22 at midnight using the link here. If you have already ordered and need to change any details, students can contact Vicky Chen at [email protected].
Student Council Collects Tabs to Support Families at Hershey Hospital
The student council is hosting a soda tab collection. The collection will directly benefit the Ronald McDonald House, an organization that helps families stay near their children at Hershey Hospital.
Whichever grade level donates the most soda tabs will win hot chocolate and cookies. Soda tabs can be put in bins around the school like in the library, cafeteria, commons and envelopes within classrooms.
The first donation checkpoint will be on Dec. 19. For more information, students can keep an eye out for posters around the school or view information shared by their class council. Any additional questions can be directed to [email protected] or [email protected].
