Just in case you have been living in an earbud-laden world full of study sessions,
TODAY is the day…
HOMECOMING Friday.
Here are the essentials of what you need to know.
SPIRIT WEEK & PEP RALLY
Spirit week is on its last legs, ending with a ‘Mediterranean Blue Day.’ Woods is excited to have a half day highlighting the pep rally.
“…We’re going to be having a pep rally like we did last year, but what’s different about this one is that it had to be shorter,” Woods said. “So instead of being an hour, it has to be 40 minutes because we’re having an early dismissal that day as well.¨
FOOTBALL GAME WHITE-OUT
The annual Homecoming White-Out football game will take place Friday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. versus New Oxford. Students need parent chaperones and cash to get in.
Adults- $4.00
Students- $2.00
Senior Citizens- $2.00
DANCE THEME
This year’s theme for the dance will be “Midnight in the Mediterranean,” and the dance is being held on Sept. 28 in the commons area of the high school.
With the theme being “Midnight in the Mediterranean,” the decorations at homecoming will resemble Greek streets, according to student council Vice President Kendall Woods.
“We’re going to have models of Greek houses alongside our library: it’s going to be like we’re actually in the streets of Greece,” Woods said. “We’re going to have an archway with cobblestone going into the dance floor.”
DANCE ADMISSION COST
If students want to go to the homecoming dance, they can buy tickets through their “myschoolbucks” account for a cost of $10. If students want to bring a guest that doesn’t go to this school, they need to pick up a guest form in the office and turn it in as soon as possible.
If you don’t purchase a ticket before the dance, then you can buy one at the door for $15.

Homecoming is a huge event for both seniors and freshmen alike, bringing the whole district together for a celebration of school spirit.
Freshman Brayden Krebs comments on his excitement for the upcoming event.
“I am really excited for Hoco,” Krebs said. “It’s gonna be a blast being with my friends and dancing around with them.”
Senior Finn Peck remembers last year’s homecoming in anticipation for this year’s celebration.
“It was fun!” Peck said. “I liked the commons as the venue. There was a lot of space, and the steps were a great place to have the DJ.”
