A new cafe brought its lush, fruity vibes into the Shrewsbury community – a Tropical Smoothie cafe.

The shop recently opened a few weeks ago and is located in the Shrewsbury Commons just to the left of Walmart.

The store hours range from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.

Business is already busy, considering it is one of the only smoothie shops in the area. Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a restaurant franchise founded in 1997 in the United States. There are more than 1150 locations nationwide.

While a customer, Dayana Rohrbaugh, was enjoying her food, she asked if she could give her opinion.
“The environment is truly amazing, everyone is so positive and inviting,” Rohrbaugh said. “I’ve been here 4 times already and plan to return tomorrow…the smoothies are blended perfectly, and the bowls are presented beautifully.”

This cafe offers various smoothies, fruit and yogurt bowls, breakfast, lunch, and bottled beverages. An employee who was hired before the opening was upbeat.
“The environment is fast-paced, the mornings are slow so it helps to keep yourself busy. This job is basically like the “Papa’s Freezeria” game, but with smoothies.”

The cafe aims to promote “eating better, easy breezy with fresh, made-to-order smoothies, wraps, sandwiches, and flatbreads that instantly boost your mood.”

While one enjoys food and drinks, one can “score-free tropic faves” by earning “Tropic Rewards.” It’s as easy as downloading the app and earning points with every qualifying order.

On a typical evening, one of the cashiers, Maddie Smith, efficiently took orders while maintaining a fast pace.
“Everyone has a certain task that we have to stick with and complete,” Smith said.“The thing I like most about working here is how diverse it is. Everyone has their own personality, and we all work well together.”
