Culinary arts teacher Karen DeLuca hosted a “Burger Battle” with her 10th period class in late March. Student groups worked together to come up with exciting burger ideas. Each group had one day to prepare, and then the next day they had 30 minutes to create the burger and present it for tasting. A group of teachers and faculty members judged the burgers and decided on the champion, “The Ultimate Smash Burger.”
Math teacher Kelly Quinn, college & career coordinator Matthew Amberman, school counselor Matthew Shervington, and assistant principal James Sterner taste-test burgers as judges for the competition.They were given packets to help them keep track of each burger with a rubric to help them judge fairly.
