Claire Gutridge is a senior at SHS who enjoys anchoring on the daily newscast.
Gutridge is an autistic self-taught musician & multi-instrumentalist who can play a number of instruments including the guitar, piano/keyboards, sax (alto & baritone), melodica, harmonica, accordion and violin.
She also has perfect pitch & synesthesia. Synesthesia is when you hear a song you see some colors or taste a potato chip when they hear a song, see a color while they eat, the months of the year in color, even someone’s name in a certain color. Gutridge’s synesthesia is shown when if she hears a song, she will see a combination of two colors that blend in with a certain time of day.
Gutridge's love of geography is accompanied by her ability to name every U.S. State Capitals and all the U.S. Presidents from 1-46.
