NFL Trade Deadline: What You Need To Know

By Blake Ramey

The 2018-2019 NFL trade deadline was a wild one, as many big players in the league were shipped to new teams.

The National Football League trade deadline occurs on the ninth week of every NFL season.

Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix has been a standout safety since his breakout when he was selected with the 21st overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers.

He had been a key piece for the Packers for the years he was there.

Some of the big trades made on NFL Trade Deadline Day.

Clinton-Dix was traded to the Washington Redskins and now adds a more versatile safety to the Redskins’ defense.

Clinton-Dix joins star cornerback Josh Norman who was seeking some extra help on the defensive side of the ball,  adding an element to the Redskins’ defense that fans have never seen before.

Ty Montgomery has been a successful, breakout player the past couple seasons when he found himself in the starting running back position for the Green Bay Packers.

However, in a game during the Packer’s matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, Montgomery fumbled the ball late in the game.

This fumble was a massive turn of events and ultimately cost the Packers the game against the Los Angeles Rams, leaving some to speculate that the fumble was the reason for Montgomery’s trade.

Defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. is a strong pass rusher that any defense would be pleased to have.

Fowler Jr. was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the 3rd overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Fowler Jr. has been a piece of the scary Jaguars defense for years, but that all came to an end when Fowler Jr. was shipped to the City of Angels, Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Rams add Fowler Jr. as a key piece to their already stacked defense.

The NFL trade deadline will have a major impact.
