Susquehannock boys lacrosse knocked off Red Land in the second round of Districts with a 24-8 victory on May 16.

Not only did they pull off a commanding win in the District III quarterfinals, the boys lacrosse team made school history that same night.

The win guaranteed the team a spot in the PIAA state tournament for the first time in program history.

Although the news brought great excitement to the team, they still had to focus on the task ahead of them; the District III Class 2A semifinal game against Trinity.

Susquehannock and Trinity faced off at Hershey High School for a spot in the District III Class 2A final on May 21.

It was a tough fight for the Warriors the entire game; Trinity had built a 6-1 margin in the first half which the Warriors tried to chip away at the rest of the game.

By the end of the first half, Susquehannock was trailing 7-3 with some major ground to cover in the ensuing half.

The Warriors ended up being able to cut the deficit to only 9-7 by the fourth quarter; however, a Trinity attacker was able to score with a few minutes left in the match to put the game out of reach.

The Warriors fought hard the entire match, but ended up falling to the Shamrocks 10-8.

With that loss, Susquehannock would then play York Catholic for the third time this year on May 23 in the third-place game for seeding in the state tournament.

In the consolation game, the Warriors again fell short in a 9-6 loss against the Irish.

Although the Warriors lost two close games, they will advance to the first round of the PIAA state tournament beginning on May 29.

Susquehannock will face Allentown CC at Emmaus High School for the chance to keep making school history.
