How is it to now not only have sons, but to also have a daughter?

“You know, it’s different and similar all at the same time. Due to their being only a few weeks old, their personalities haven’t really come out yet. However, there is definitely an indescribable feeling that she’s my little girl and that I would do anything for her!”

How has your son been with the arrival of the twins?

“Blake has done about as well as I could ask, given that his whole world was just flipped upside down. He’s been a little cranky here and there, as he doesn’t quite get the same attention as before their arrival, but he has loved being a helpful big brother and can’t get enough of the twins.”

What are the differences between having a newborn and newborn twins?

“Honestly, it’s not that much different. You just multiply everything by two. Twice as many diaper changes, twice as many feedings, twice as many cries in the middle of the night, etc.. But, there’s also double the kids to love and help grow and impact this world!”

How was preparing for the twins’ arrival different from your son’s?

“It was different in the sense that we already felt comfortable as parents. With Blake, we had no idea what to expect or how to be good parents. For the twins, we knew what to expect, but I can’t promise we have parenting completely figured out yet! The best I can say is that with all of our kids we have strived to love them relentlessly, create the structure and support necessary for them to succeed, and have aimed to encourage strong character development in them in order to prepare them for all that life holds.”

What struggles have you and your wife had with the twins so far?

“Sleep, or the lack thereof. Since there are two of them they are up constantly throughout the night. This has caused many sleepless nights for my wife and I, but thankfully coffee abounds!”

Is having twins like you anticipated and how?

“I would have to say that it’s not what I expected. We heard a lot of “doom and gloom” from people about having twins, and thankfully that has not been our experience. Life continues largely as it was; we just have a couple more kids in tow to whatever activities we are involved in. It’s busy, it’s a little chaotic, but overall it’s just adding a couple more lovable kids to our tribe!”

Overall, how have the twins been so far?

“Overall it’s been a wonderful experience. We’ve been smitten with them from day one, and I can’t wait to see them grow and develop throughout their lives. On one last note, I also want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and encouragement we have received from people, my wife and I count ourselves as extremely blessed by our Southern family!”
