Choir students from Susquehannock have been nominated for a select choir performance.
Soprano Julia Kelbaugh, Tenor Brendan Paules, Bass Dan Poole, and Alto Jordan Pflieger will attend the Lebanon Valley College Honors Choir festival.

Choir teacher Jay Althouse explains what the LVC Choir is.

“The LVC Honors Choir is a day and a half choral festival where students that are recommended by their choir directors join with each other and learn 5 pieces of choral music over the course of 36 hours prior to giving a public performance. The students get to work with Dr. Matthew Erpelding, Director of Choral Activities at Lebanon Valley College,” Althouse said.

Sophomore Jordan Pflieger describes her thankfulness being selected for the choir.

“I’m glad that I can be a role model to students to overachieve, and I am thankful for being chosen for opportunities like this,” said Pflieger.

Althouse describes his confidence with the students he nominated for the Choir.

I have complete confidence that these 4 students will be completely successful in learning the music through the rehearsal with the LVC Choral Director,” said Althouse.

Althouse also explains how many students in total will participate in the overall Choir.

“I do not have a total number. This is our first time at the LVC Honors Choir, so I have no basis for comparison. If I have to make a guess, I would assume around 50-75 students,” said Althouse.

The Lebanon Valley Choir is located in Lebanon, PA. The festival is Jan. 12 and 13 with a culminating performance on Jan 13 at 4:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public.
