Special Train Display Lights Up Town

The Glen Rock Hose and Ladder company is presenting its annual train display.

The popular train display is located at the Hufnagel Public Library on Main Street in Glen Rock.

Junior Ethan Horn has been volunteering at the library and knows exactly how the trains are set up.

“The fire department mainly sets up the train garden,” said Horn. “It’s never really broken down. The trains and tracks stay up. To run it I would say at least 5-6 people.”

Even though it takes place in such a small town, the display has attracted visitors from surrounding areas.

“Most of the town [comes,] and we draw in a lot of visitors from north of York, some small towns in the border of Maryland,” said Horn.

Katherine Heisler is the library assistant and has noticed the work that the firemen have put into the display.

“The fire company starts working on it a couple months before they open to get everything cleaned up and doing new things and making sure everything works,” said Heisler.

The trains operate on Fridays and Sundays from November 24 to January 7.

It is free admission, but donations are appreciated.
