Fidel Castro Dies At 90

Fidel Castro has finally died at age 90. Fidel Castro has been terrorizing the people of Cuba for more than 50 years.

Castro began his 47-year reign over Cuba in 1959 and created Cuba into a one-party, socialists state under a Communist rule. For the majority of the population, the people despised him and his violent ways, so, naturally, his death was a celebration. Florida’s streets were flooded with ecstatic people flying Cuba’s flag, cheering and banging pots and pans over the news.The news hit hard to those who have suffered under his rule as they now can feel safe once again.

Jackie Kennedy is being revived in the most empowering way possible. Natalie Portman takes on the role of the most famous widow in history. In the movie Jackie, Natalie Portman portrays the haunting life of Jackie Kennedy just days after the tragic assassination of her husband and the President, JFK. The film also highlights before the assassination and Jackie’s life in the White House as the first lady and her famous elegant personality and sense of fashion. Jackie is in theaters now and is playing everywhere.

Burn the flag and lose your citizenship

President-elect Donald Trump’s word is heard by everyone, whether they agree with it or not. Trump holds the power to potentially make a change, and with that power, he is trying to make it illegal to burn the American flag. The American flag means a lot to the country, and with the recent protests involving the election, many have taken it out on the flag and have started burning it in retaliation to the outcome of the election. Although, with this country being built on the first amendment, the supreme court feels it may be too hard of a battle to win, as the flag is a form of free speech. Though in the eyes of Trump, if a person chooses to burn the American flag, he believes they should be jailed and potentially lose their citizenship.

Tragedy Hits Ohio State University

This past Monday, students of Ohio State continued their daily routine until chaos struck when a fellow student attacked people with a knife on the campus, leaving 11 injured. The suspect Abdul Razak Ali Artan was finally stopped by death when a university police shot him. The deceased suspect is being investigated for an act of terrorism and a link to ISIS. The student is previously from Somalia and is now a permanent United States resident who was studying logistics management at Ohio State, according to The New York Times. The university is distraught over the tragedy but returned to normal classes the following day.
