Junior Writes Book
October 27, 2016
Junior Jade Reall is someone you always see writing.
Reall’s Apprentice of Terra Ferma is a novel that she plans on entering in to a Scholastic contest next school year.
The main character, Kura, will be going through a lot as an apprentice of a sorcerer.
“She studies magic and sorcery and is helping a rebellion against the queen,” said Reall.
Inspiration for this book came from a place that Reall said that she saw in her dreams.
“It was a series of dreams that I had, and I would wake up and write them down before I would forget them, and then I realized that they were making a story by themselves,” explained Reall.
Math teacher Steward Heikes that it is wonderful for someone her age.
“I think that’s really cool, and I’ve always thought about writing a book myself, but I don’t have the time for it,” said Heikes.
Heikes also thinks that Reall’s book will be successful in the future when it does get published and plans to buy a copy for himself.
Junior Lucy Curran is a close friend of Reall’s.
“I think that it is a big accomplishment for someone her age, considering that it will give her a head start into the business that I know she wants to go into,” said Curran.
Heikes was also able to give some advice for young writers like Reall.
“Just go for it. Start while you’re young because it might take years and just go for it,” said Heikes.
Reall has written a short story to go along with the book she is writing that she will be entering into the Scholastic Art and Writing contest this year.

I believe this is incredible that one of our own students is writing a book. I wish her the best of luck and hope to read her published book.
