As Beyoncé once sang, “if you like it than you should put a ring on it,” and that is exactly what Bachelor contestant Ben Higgins did with winner Lauren Bushnell. It all came down to the final showdown between flight attendant Lauren Bushnell and now, next bachelorette JoJo Fletcher on Monday night’s airing. Living rooms were filled with stress and anticipation as all the viewers finally got to watch Lauren Bushnell turn into Lauren Higgins. Some question why Lauren won and JoJo did not.

It all came down to the final showdown between flight attendant Lauren Bushnell, and, now, next bachelorette JoJo Fletcher on Monday night’s airing. Living rooms were filled with stress and anticipation as all the viewers finally got to watch Lauren Bushnell turn into Lauren Higgins. Some question why Lauren won and JoJo did not.

In January, after Ben met all the girls, we knew right away who needed to leave asap and who was going to stick around until, the end. As the season went on, one contestant stood out and it was not Lauren. Viewers were getting concerned that Olivia Caridi might be the one.

Everyone wanted her voted off, but it seemed like every week Ben started to like her more and more, when everyone could see how bad she was for him. She continued to receive a rose each week, and viewers had no idea why. Finally, the moment the fans were waiting for was the day that no one had to hear Olivia obsess over Ben, when she did not receive a rose.

After we happily said our goodbyes to Olivia, there were only 6 women left. Ben was left to choose from Emily Ferguson, Becca Tilly, JoJo Fletcher, Lauren Bushnell, Caila Quinn and Amanda Stanton.

As relationships progressed and tensions rose in the house, viewers could step back and see that for Ben and Lauren, it was really love at first sight. From all their dates overlooking the Pacific in a hot tub to the plane ride they took together, we knew that they were perfect match.

Every fan has a favorite girl that they know belongs with Ben, and for sophomore Sydney Smith, she was rooting for

JoJo to win the whole time.

“ I wanted JoJo to win because I think she was more true than Lauren B. I liked Lauren a lot, but I think she is too

young to be engaged to a guy like Ben. Also, Ben telling JoJo she is not the one but him still trying to tell her he loved her made me very upset,” said Smith.

Dedicated viewer of the show, senior Tess Clancy was ecstatic that Lauren won over Ben.

“I wanted Lauren to win because from the start I could tell she would be a good match for Ben,… she seemed really down to earth and nice, and she continued to be like that through the process,” said Clancy.

As the show narrowed down to the last two women, junior Casey Kummer knew Lauren would win.

“I wanted Lauren to win because I did not like how fake JoJo was. I personally liked Lauren’s family as well. I thought they were more supportive. Lauren also deserved to be engaged to Ben,” said Kummer.

Looking back at the previous history of The Bachelor, fans will have to wait and see if Ben and Lauren are the next Sean and Catherine or if their relationship will struggle like Juan Pablo and Nikki.
