Is Cheese the New Cancer Cure?

While finding the cure for cancer has been an ongoing battle, cheese may be the next step

towards finding the answer, according to Shape Magazine. Cheese contains nisin, which is a preservative that kills cancer cells and antibiotic resistant bacteria. The creation of a “nisin milkshake” was given to rats with tumors. The results showed that over 70% of the tumor cells were killed by the shake. No bacteria has been found that is resistant to nisin thus far; however, testing has only been done through animals. The next step is moving towards a clinical trial.

Starbucks Upgraded Its Menu

As the new year and winter season progress, Starbucks has put forth efforts to make new additions to their menu. Similar to a popular drink sold in Seattle’s Starbucks last season, a Smoked Butterscotch Latte has been added to the menu. According to POPSUGAR, this drink “blends espresso with smoked butterscotch sauce and steamed milk and is topped off with smoky butterscotch sugar.” It is available to order between now through March 21, in participating stores. Along with the smoky drink, two smoky sandwiches have

been added to the list as well. The Spicy Chorizo, Monterey Jack and Egg Breakfast Sandwich and the Ancho-Chipotle Chicken Panini are available in stores across the US and Canada.
