Yearbooks Have Hit Susquehannock

By Emily Loehmer

Yearbooks are being distributed to Susquehannock students as the end of the school year draws closer. This year is the first to have a May yearbook delivery; usually, the books are delivered during the summer.

Jessica Beste, adviser of the yearbook course, is proud to announce the final results of the yearbook.

“Students can look forward to another all-color book that focuses on bringing to life the memories made in the high school over this past school year,” said Beste. “Another big change is the first ever May delivery. Usually our yearbooks are distributed in August, but this year the staff decided to produce a spring delivery book and create a spring supplement.”

The style of the book itself is a simple design, but it is very effective when trying to demonstrate Susky spirit.

“The book’s theme is school spirit and Susky pride. The cover, font, and colors all come together to be a true red, white, and black theme,” said Beste.

Obviously, the layout in every year’s yearbook is different. The staff creates different templates with different visions for each section and each page. The use of color, photo and text placement and background templates help to heighten the theme and bring each page to life.

This year, there were 440 books sold. The staff is hoping that a spring delivery will further heighten the yearbook’s sales as there is always a long waiting list.

Since the yearbook’s layout is different every year, there is always a difficult decision on what the yearbook will feature exactly. For example, this year there is a new senior section.

Another change that has occurred does not surround the yearbook per-say. Instead, it has to do with the actual staff. The numbers of staffers has increased from the last year.

“It was quite different working with a larger staff, but the product is phenomenal….I could not be more proud to be their adviser,” said Beste.

Take a trip down memory lane, and be sure to pick up a yearbook and admire the hard work and dedication that was put into it.
