When I first walked into the doors at Susky on the first day of the 2016 year, I knew I was going to like this school.

Within the first two weeks, I had students who I had never met before greeting me by name in the hallways.

Everyone seemed to know me, and at the time, it was very overwhelming.

I became accustomed to my classes, my friends and just school in general.

My friends took me to school sporting events, something I had never participated in before, and I absolutely loved it.

Susky school spirit really hit me,  and it seemed this school actually cared about its community and culture.

The spirit week coming up to Homecoming was amazing; it really seemed like everyone had made an effort to participate.

I also had a date to homecoming, something that hadn’t happened to me since freshman year.

Continuing through the school year, keeping my grades up and getting through the winter, I became closer with my friends.

Now that it is time to graduate, I feel bad that I only had a year to know these people.

I feel as if I have known them all my life, and now I have to say goodbye.

My first and final year at Susquehannock has taught me to look at the world differently.

I came to Susky after a terrible period in my life, and Susquehannock accepted me with open arms and has allowed me to move on and continue my life.

There were some issues with my transferring and applying to college, but the school administration, especially counselor Matt Shervington, helped me get past them and get accepted into college.

I write this as a thank you to everyone at Susquehannock High School, the students, the staff and the community that surrounds it.
