Winter sports have officially commenced, and Warrior wrestling is in full swing. Many of the wrestlers have been showing up since the summer time for workouts and are in great shape to win plenty of matches this season.

Senior Ray Wenger is one of those wrestlers.

“I’m looking forward to winning all of my matches this season,” said Wenger. “We have a great coach in Brad Keeney, and I strongly believe with his leadership that this team will have a good season.”

Junior Nick Samuels has also prepared through most of the off season for wrestling season.

“Our coach is great,” said Samuels. “We are going to win a lot this season.”

Junior Will Gourley, who is new to Susquehannock High School this year, is very excited to start his season as a Warrior.

“I’ve been wrestling since I was five years old,” said Gourley. “After moving from Hanover, it was interesting to see how seriously they take wrestling here.”

Talent is plentiful on this wrestling team. Keeney is very excited about this season.

“Kids put in a lot of time in the off season this year,” said Keeney. “The whole goal for this year is to get better than we did last year. Last year we won eight matches, and the whole goal is to keep extending that. 10-15 wins is our goal this season.”
