As a teenager you don’t have the greatest memory of what you did as a child. You don’t remember what your first word was or when you took your first steps, but one of the most memorable parts of my childhood would have to be the TV shows. From Hannah Montana to Scooby Doo, kid networks never let us down. Here are my top 5 favorite childhood shows.

5.  Rugrats

Nickelodeon’s Rugrats was about a group of babies who would have normal life experiences that would turn into extraordinary adventures. Everybody who watched this show wished for a childhood like this. Whether they were riding around in a Reptar car, wandering around a Japanese amusement park, or traveling to Paris, Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, and Angelica were living the life. Even when Rugrats ended, viewers were able to rejoice when All Grown Up aired and continued the lives of all of the kids.

4.  Sister, Sister

What would you do if you had a twin sister that you never knew about? In Tia and Tamera’s situation, they moved in with each other along with their adoptive mom and dad. The girls went through high school and college dealing with all of the typical teenage problems along with the added factor of having a new twin sister. They also had to deal with their noisy and infatuated neighbor Roger. Paramount Network Television’s Sister, Sister showed viewers how to conquer family and teenager issues when unexpected events happen in your life.

3.  Family Matters

Did I do that? ABC’s Family Matters focuses on the Winslows, a middle class Chicago family that dealt with any normal family issue and the added annoyance of their nerdy and noisy neighbor Steve Urkel. Urkel had a romantic obsession with the Winslow’s daughter Laura throughout the show, which eventually paid off in the series finale. Like Full House, the Winslows were a family of five that continued to grow and support each other throughout the series.

2.  Full House

Have Mercy! This 90’s sitcom may have been over before I was born, but the reruns live on. Recently widowed dad Danny Tanner was struggling to raise his three children, D.J., Stephanie, and Michelle, so he enlisted the help of his friend Joey Gladstone and his brother-in-law Jesse Katsopolis. The show follows the family as they grow older and larger in numbers. Everyone wanted to be a part of this large family with their own Uncle Jesse, Uncle Joey, and Danny Tanner. Full House shared family and life morals during every episode, and made me love the Tanners even more.  Although Full House only ran for eight seasons on ABC, the show will live on for generations on ABC Family.

She’s not your basic, average girl because she’s here to save the world, and you can’t stop her because she’s Kim Possible. This was my favorite childhood show. High Schooler Kim Possible along with her best friend turned boyfriend, Ron Stoppable, his pet naked mole rat Rufus, and her computer-bound friend Wade worked together to save the world from villains for 5 years on the Disney Channel. Although Possible’s villains were much older than her, she was always able to outsmart her opponents along using her insane cheerleading moves to save the day. Kim Possible proved to kids that anything was possible if you put your mind to it. If you really miss Kim Possible, you can always wake up at three in the morning to watch reruns on Disney XD.
