It is debatable that America has talent, but it’s time to prove that Susquehannock has it. Three students decided to audition for America’s Got Talent and attempted to pass through the first audition.
The NBC hit show America’s Got Talent recently stopped by the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland. The show is in its 9th season and has produced acts such as Bianca Ryan, Neal Boyd, Olate Dogs, and Kenichi Ebina. All winners of the show are now “Las Vegas” performers.
Sophomore Hailey Villa, junior Matt Twaddel and freshman Sydney Delpi were three of more than a thousand other people auditioning for a spot on the hit TV show. Villa and Delpy sang as their talent, while Twaddel auditioned with his band Absent Blinded.
Twaddel has been involved with music his whole life.
“We just went out there to have fun,” said Twaddel. “ We weren’t there to necessarily to make it, but to gain experience.”
Twaddel says it depends on his decision to try out or not, on whether his band is chosen to be on the show because the process goes through a set of judges then to the TV executives and producers.
Hailey Villa sang as her talent for the audition. The sophomore tried out with her best effort to make it the next round.
“I was really excited going into there,” said Villa. “The experience was amazing. There were a lot of people, and I saw some kids from school. It was fun.”
A special education paraprofessional teacher Deborah Bosley, is a big fan and frequent viewer of Americas Got Talent. She says she has watched the show since its been on, 9 years ago.
“What I like about the show is that anyone can be on the show,” said Bosley. “As long as they have a talent, they can be on the show.” Bosley wishes all three of the students best of luck on making the show, and it would thrill her to see them on.
The results of the auditions won’t be known for another week, and all three students wait eagerly for the results.
