The boys tennis team backhanded winter and made their entrance on the court this spring, 3-2.
In the previous weeks, the team had mixed results on the court with two wins and one loss, but they are staying focused on their goal of reaching the district finals.
The team lost a close match to York Suburban on Friday, March 21 with a score of 2-3. Despite the loss, the team had some strong player performances with junior William Cowx securing a singles win.

In their match against Biglerville, the team absolutely dominated, not dropping a single set in their 5-0 victory.
Both junior Jacob Iwanowicz and Cowx secured their wins in their singles matches to help the team to victory.
Having a strong team, according to Coach Marianne Michels, they have some tough goals they wish to achieve.
“I am blessed with a strong team this year, so my goal is to win the Division, make it to Districts and States as a team, and have some of my players make it to Districts and States in singles and doubles,” Michels said.
Michels wants the team to improve any weaknesses the team might have.
“I want the players to feel confident in every aspect of their game,” Michels said.

Freshman Camden White is enjoying his first year on the team and the friendship with the team.
“I feel confident in my team because we are doing our best,” White said. “I’ve met players from all over the world, including Spain, Italy and Australia. Tennis is not just about winning, but also about making new friends and enjoying the game.”
Senior Kaleb Jackman has his own goal to improve upon his skill and surpass one of the varsity players, junior Carter Barrett.
“My only real goal is to overtake one of the varsity players, Carter Barrett, in skill and the number of victories,” Jackman said.
Jackman also wishes for the team to make it to districts.

“Goals team-wise are just to make it to districts, but really so long as people are actually trying their best, it doesn’t really matter the outcome,” Jackman said.
It’s clear that their focus on improvement, both personally and as a group, is creating a winning attitude.
The team faces off against Central York on April 4 on the road.
