If you did not get the chance to descend into the haunt-filled streets of Dark Nights, Hershey’s haunted fright-mare journey, this Halloween season, here is insight on this spook-filled attraction.

In general, HersheyPark has put on a very spectactular show with all five attractions. The price of the ticket was $59.99 for a one day pass, which also had day time passes to the park included. The price was  worth it because you could stay from 12 p.m., which is when the park opened, all the way until 11 p.m., which is an extra hour after closing.

Auntie Mortem’s Abattoirs
Auntie Mortem’s slaughterhouse was a solid 7 screams out of 10. When one walks in, it feels like you are truly entering a haunted farm full of pigs and spirits. The scare actors were so interactive, and they truly pulled the whole experience together- though, it was not that scary.

Sophomore Emma Lutz went to Hershey Park’s Dark Nights this past season and comments on her experience in Auntie Mortem’s.

“Auntie Mortem’s wasn’t scary enough, but I didn’t really like the fact that you had to walk through [hanging] pig guts,’’ Lutz said.

Haunted Coal Mine: Curse of Tommy Knockers
The Haunted Coal Mine is a solid 9.5 screams out of 10. This attraction has changed my outlook on coal mines completely as it took you down to the once used mines, creating an unsettling feeling as you feel as if the old “spirits” were lingering nearby.

Twisted Carnevil
I give the Twisted Carnevil 8 screams out of 10. When you first walk in, you are walking into a circus-like atmosphere. I have always had a deathly fear of clowns, so it did not truly help in that aspect. Though it was frightening at some points, it was not at the level where I could not handle walking through it.

Estate of Evil
The brand new Estate of Evil is 8 screams out of 10. I would recommend this particular attraction if you only plan on doing one house. This haunting attraction has the perfect amount of scare that you can still enjoy while getting a good fright. All the characters were very involved with running at you and jumping out of places you would least expect them to be.

“My favorite was Estate Of Evil because it was scary but still fun enough that you could interact with the actors,” Lutz said.

FallOut Zone
The FallOut Zone has a rating of 9.5 screams out of 10. The characters were very interactive and very realistic, which was pretty scary since it made the haunting experience come to life.

Midway of Misery
Midway of Misery was 8.5 screams out of 10. When I had gone, all of the actors were very interactive and put on a very good production with each scare. A few of the actors had done meet and greets, and they were very respectful and seemed very interested while listening.

DarkStones Hollow
DarkStones Hollow had very creative characters and sets. There were three characters outside of the scare zone attraction who played their role well. Even for this being a fairly new scare zone, the production was very put together and interesting to watch while being produced.

Next year if you plan to go, definitely plan to get tickets early, and be ready for the horror and fright that lingers.
