Susky Hosts Virtual Student IT Forum

March 8, 2022

The Lincoln Intermediate Unit (LIU) will host a virtual Student Help Desk Forum for high school and middle school students on Friday, April 8.

The forum will address a nation-wide shortage in IT positions that is leaving students less likely to be interested in professional fields of technology, hoping to encourage students to pursue the field in college.

LIU aims to emphasize the importance and value of IT careers because of how dependent society is on technology today.

The Help Desk Forum hopes to make a difference locally and will expose interested students to potential future careers and other topics that will help to ease the pressure on tech organizations.

The event will take place via Zoom on April 8 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and will consist of table top activities as well as presentations from local professionals involved in IT careers and students who take part in the field.

The experience is free, and all that is needed to participate is a device to connect to the Zoom meeting as well as a pair of earbuds or headphones.

If interested in attending, students can reach out to technology coordinator Greg Hunt or Principal Kevin Molin.
