Administration Tests New Color Themes

The high school is having renovations done next spring after careful planning and time.

Although renovations are not starting yet, some aspects of the school are already starting to change.

Walking in the school high school hallways during mid-April, some of the different sections of tiles are now painted over.

High school principal Kevin Molin elaborates on the different stages of the renovations that have been taking place.

“One of the objectives with the renovation is to create a consistent look in the building,” said Molin.

Currently in the school, the tiles are varying shades of green due to previous renovations. Architects and engineers are working on painting the tiles for a solution, hoping to achieve a cohesive look to the building without tearing out the tile.

The colors currently coating the walls are more neutral-based colors. These colors were selected to demonstrate how lighter, more neutral hues can create a brighter space. However, they are not the actual shades that were selected for the renovated building.

In mid-May thin tiles will be put over the current ones to see if it is more beneficial, looks better, etc.

Teachers in the school, like art teacher Wesley Myers and  electronic arts teacher Wade Bowers, will be consulted on the final selection. Both Myers and Bowers have fine art and design backgrounds and were already asked for their input on the newly painted tiles.

The last decision will be made by the administration, interior designer and potentially teachers.
