SMS – Hoops For Heart Fundraiser

SMS – Hoops for Heart Event

On March 28th, SMS teamed up with the American Heart Association and participated in a 3 on 3 Hoops for Heart Basketball Tournament. This event helped to raise awareness, fund lifesaving research and involve middle school students in a community service project. As a result of this campaign, SMS raised $3,800.00 to support the American Heart Association.

Throughout the month of March, students participated in online fundraising, sold “Worth the Effort” t-shirts as well as participated in Spirit week activities which were all ways to help raise awareness and support the AHA. Mrs. Mikita and the Hoops For Heart Planning and Promoting Club would like to thank staff, students and families for supporting this very worthy cause. The takeaway message from this event is that a group of caring individuals who are passionate about a worthy cause can make a difference and save lives!  A shout out to the following students ~Chase Eckert, Karlye Kuhns, Aries Blymire, Jessica Tolley and Stephan Mayoryk who were the top five fundraisers at our school. Every dollar makes a difference!!
