Throughout the game there were many foul shots with Susquehannock shooting 25 and West York only getting to shoot 8. On the defensive end, the Warriors had 17 turnovers throughout the whole game, with 5 of them just in the 3rd period.
The top scorer was sophomore Katie Wagner, scoring 21 points.
“I was very pleased with how the game was played, and how our team worked together,” Wagner said, “and plus, it was an undefeated team.”
Susquehannock then advanced to the YAIAA against District game against West York which was played on Wednesday, February 27 at 5:30 P.M. at the Giant Center in Hershey.
Before the game began, the records stood at Susquehannock 17-7 and West York 23-4.
Much happened during the game, with the score being very close the entire time. The Warriors stood strong throughout the game.
Susquehannock took the game away with the win 43-42 against West York.
Junior Mackenzie Fancher was very excited when the game ended.
‘We exceeded our expectations, just going into the playoffs, and we surprised many of our fans and the Southern York County School District,” said Fancher.
Athletic Director, Chuck Abbott was astounded by the way the girls played this season and this game.
“The expectations were high, the girls came back in a different division this year,” said Abbott, “… [showing] Southern York County who they really are.”
Susquehannock Girls Basketball then advanced to the next round against Palmyra High on March 2 at the Giant Center.
