Blue Man Group Runs the Show in Orlando
February 27, 2019
Red letters pop up across the stage, lights flash in your eyes, melodic beats flow through your ears, and three blue men capture your attention.
The Blue Man Group was formed in 1991 and has been a popular performing group since.
Universal Studios Orlando Resort has been home to the Blue Man Group show since 2007. Surrounded by tropical weather and entertaining parks, Orlando is the perfect setting.
From the trippy visuals flashing across the screen to silent comedic acts to rhythmic music performances, there is something for everyone in the show.
Exploring unique ways to make music is something they’ve done since the beginning, like using PVC pipes and drums covered in colorful water to make their catchy tunes.
Although their show features both music and comedy, the men stay silent and serious the entire time, which adds an element of quirkiness to their odd charm.
In the comedic part of the show, they brought up a guest from the crowd.
After setting up a nice dinner table, they shared twinkies with the guest, and it turned into a big mess all over the table.
In the next part of the show, they encouraged creativity and originality.
After showing many forms of art, they decided to use an audience member as a paintbrush. They gave him a jumpsuit and welders mask and led him backstage where they poured paint on him.
Then, they pressed him against a massive canvas to make a masterpiece.
The Blue Man group was certainly a variety show of sorts.
They both amazed people and made them laugh, resulting in a successful performance that left the crowd feeling good.
Meant for all ages, it is childish at some points but slips in the casual innuendo for the older generations.
For the grand finale, the crowd stood up as they released glowing beach balls from the ceiling to bounce around the room.
Lights flashed and music played, encouraging the people to “shake their booties” and have a great time.
The show encouraged creativity with personal interests while entertaining a crowd for two hours.
At a Blue Man Group show, expect a good time and an urge to dance to their drumming.
