Girls basketball ended the season with the record of 16-7 and has now moved on to districts.
Athletic Director Chuck Abbott was very pleased with how the season came through and is anxious to see what the basketball team has to show.
“They played very well over the past season and looked very sharp, and I believe they will play hard to win,” said Abbott.
Districts consists of several schools around Central Pennsylvania competing against each other.
Many of the players are also very confident going into the districts, but one player that stands out and is very confident is junior varsity player, Jessica Voltaggio.
“We are very confident going into this game, due to the fact we have home court advantage and we work together as a team,” said Voltaggio.
The team’s first district game was played at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 here at Susquehannock High School vs. Conrade Weiser.
Susquehannock won 68 – 38, taking the team to quarter finals. The lady warriors will play against Lancaster Catholic on Saturday, February 23, at 1:30 PM. The game will be played at Milton Hershey High School.
“Of course the goal is to win the game, but they’re [going to] come out and …[with] a great mind[set] to pull off a win,” said Abbott.
The team has a lot of confidence, hopes to score big, and aims to go far in districts.
