Southern York County School District Students Present Sounds of the Season

SHS’s Chanticleer
Southern York County School District students will present songs and sounds of the season in their annual holiday concerts. All concerts are free and open to the public.
Shrewsbury Elementary School:
Shrewsbury Elementary School will hold its Winter Choral Concert on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. in the school’s all-purpose room. Students from the 5th grade chorus will sing a selection of winter songs. The 3rd grade students will present a winter musical.
Southern Elementary School:
The Southern Elementary School Winter Choral Concert will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the school’s all-purpose room. The concert will feature choral selections sung by the combined 5th and 6th grade chorus. The third graders will perform “Crazy Carols,” fun and wacky arrangements of traditional holiday carols arranged with new lyrics.
Friendship Elementary School:
Friendship Elementary School’s chorus will present its Winter Choral Concert on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the school’s all-purpose room. The 5th and 6th grade chorus will present a variety of pieces centered around the theme One World, Many Songs. The third grade students will sing several folk songs and will accompany themselves on percussion instruments including xylophones, metallophones, and glockenspiels.
All Elementary Schools
The Sixth Grade Band and Orchestra Concert will take place Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. in the Southern Middle School auditorium.
Southern Middle School
The Southern Middle School Choir and Orchestra students will perform their Winter Concert on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Dr. Richard D. Hupper Auditorium at Susquehannock High School.
Susquehannock High School
The Susquehannock High School Music Department will present its annual Winter Concert on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dr. Richard D. Hupper Auditorium, at Susquehannock High School. The concert features the Susquehannock High School Concert Choir, Chanticleer, Orchestra, and Jazz Band.
