The wrestling team’s record sits at 0-9; however, the team has quite a few successful individuals that possess great talent.
Tyler White is one of said seven juniors wrestling this season.
Disregarding their unfortunate record, White still feels the team faces a substantial obstacle. “I’m not too worried about [our record], there is not enough participation for us to even win a game,” said White.
Coach Joe Dominick, who has been a wrestling coach for 30 years, was also concerned with numbers.
“There [are] not enough participants. There are not even enough people to fill every weight class, so when we have to forfeit four or five of the weight classes every match, we are already down about thirty points,” coach Dominick stated.
Ray Wenger is a sophomore that has been wrestling for five years.
“We have been wrestling, lots and lots of wrestling, we have also been doing a lot of conditioning for this match,” stated Wenger.
The three all agreed when asked what the team’s biggest weakness was. “Just simply getting people to sign up [is hard],” said Wenger.
Aiming to make progress, the team has kept up its morale and is also looking for more opportunities to work on their game.
“It seems to be going slightly better than normal, compared to past seasons. Going to camps as a team would also help,” said Wenger.
The team hopes to work towards a winning record next season.
“Having a few more people come out for the team would help,” White stated.
