Susquehannock High School Holds Its First Field Day
September 22, 2017
Susquehannock High School recently held its first ‘Field Day’ as part of its opening week of activities.
Susquehannock assistant principal Melissa Bell said the purpose of the day was to build unity among students. “This event was a student-generated idea, and on the first day of school, each homeroom decided on an activity together,” said Bell. “The theme of the day was ‘What it means to be a Warrior,’” she said. The event also promoted team building through physical activity.
Susquehannock physical education and health teachers Brett Maxwell, Stephanie McGlynn, Abigail Grove, Joe Sorice, and JD Krodel organized the event. Each teacher planned, organized, and ran an activity which included ‘Capture the Flag,’ ‘Ultimate Frisbee,’ ‘Minute to Win It,’ and kickball. “It was wonderful to see teachers and their students participating together,” said Bell.
