Put a “Spring” In Your Step

By Katelin Tyler, News Editor

The spring, for most students, comes as a relief; the sun comes out once again, spring sports gear up for a competitive season, and extra activities are planned, giving us something to look forward to towards the end of the year.

At the start of March, Mini-Thon is the first event that kicks off the spring season. This Friday, March 10, students will prepare for a long day of fun and dancing to support and raise money for childhood cancer. Of course, prom follows on May 7 with a theme that will be sure to excite students and bring a solid night of dancing, food and friends. In between Thon and Prom, students have the color run to look forward to on April 29. The color run provides a local and equally as fun alternative to the nationwide phenomenon right here at our school. The color run includes a 5K race around the school campus grounds while being immersed in colorful paint.

Senior Mackenzie Gibson is ecstatic that spring is right around the corner.

“ I love spring. It is probably my favorite season. I just love how the weather starts to heat up, and it automatically puts me in a good mood. I am also really excited that spring sports have started back up which means I can play softball again…,” said Gibson.

With less than three months left of school and students patiently waiting for June 2, let us take the time to embrace spring and all the fun events planned to lead us  to graduation.
