Freshmen Review the Link Day Experience
September 6, 2016
The class of 2020 were welcomed on the first day by participating in an active day with the juniors and seniors of Link Crew. The day is geared towards making the freshmen more excited about high school and to bring the classes together.
To get an idea of how the day went, some of the freshmen were asked how the day helped them, what their favorite part was, and what they were most nervous about going into the day.
“I was a little afraid of the upperclassmen,” said Carly Farmer. “I thought they were going to be mean to us, but they were nice.”
“I liked the beginning when we were in the gym,” said Olivia Hartman. “The activities were really fun.”
“I learned the most from touring the school,” said Jenna Schecter. “They were right when they said it was just a big square.”
“My favorite part was meeting my Link Crew leader Dan McNair,” said Matt Speir. “He let me touch his beard.”
“My Link Crew leaders were cool,” said Coleman Bongardt. “They brought in donuts for us.”
“The tour really helped me,” said Matt Ware. “It helped me figure out my way around.”
“My favorite part was when they showed us around the school,” said Lucy Mattee. “It made the school a lot less intimidating.”
“My favorite part was that my Link Crew leaders brought us snacks,” said Ashleigh Dell. “It made them less scary to me.”
“I liked the beginning when we were all in the gym,” said Cj Munch. “It was very energetic… there was a good atmosphere.”
“I was nervous to meet the upperclassmen,” said Dj Rohrbaugh. “They’re all bigger than us and I thought it was going to be intimidating.”
