It is mid-June, and, as usual, sitting on the couch watching Netflix is the only event on your calendar… for the rest of summer. This year, forget about uneventful days, and go somewhere amusing that is close to you and that won’t break your bank.

York, PA

    Central Market

       Bring out the foodie in you at the Central Market. The Central Market offers a vast variety of local food that will blow the minds of even the best food critique. With two locations, one in York, this a perfect trip to explore for the day.

  1. Lake Redman

       Get your 60 minutes of exercise in with a day at Lake Redman. Kayaking, hiking and fishing is all offered at just 20 minutes away. Lake Redman offers prices starting from 16 dollars for one hour to kayak.

Let loose for the day, and take a journey to Roundtop. Paintballing and rope courses can be found at this transformed mountain. With a short drive, learn something new, and conquer the rope course. The rope course has a cost of 48 dollars for four fun-filled hours.

Maryland

Fine dining and waterfront view can not be beat at the Baltimore Harbor. Make a day out of it, go to the aquarium and explore, or make it a night and hit all the best restaurants, like the Cheesecake Factory with a view.

Catch some Vitamin C, and take a sunny drive to Ocean City, Maryland. Cover all the activities from shopping to eating to tanning on the beach. Spending the whole week can be expensive, so ditch the hotel and enjoy your money shopping. With lots of options to park in the inlet, everything is easily accessible.

3. Museums

          Don’t go brain dead this summer; learn something, and take a day to go to museums. Maryland offers a broad range of museums from The Walter art gallery to the Maryland Science center, both reachable by a quick drive to Baltimore. Walter art gallery offers free admission, and the Maryland Science center has prices starting at 20 dollars.
