Reunited and It Feels So Good
January 28, 2016
It’s been a decade since the first High School Musical film premiered on television, and 10 years later, the cast is still “all in this together.”
January 20 marked the date of the High School Musical Reunion, where some members of the original cast caught up on everything they’ve missed since their time at East High.
Vanessa Hudgens (Gabriella Montez), Corbin Bleu (Chad Danforth), Ashley Tisdale (Sharpay Evans), Monique Coleman (Taylor McKessie), and director Kenny Ortega spent their Friday night reuniting by having a group dinner in Los Angeles. There was never a dull moment as these former Disney Channel Stars had a lot to share and converse about. Tisdale is now a married woman, Hudgens is taking a role in Grease: Live, and Ortega is directing a new Disney Channel movie, The Descendants.
Although this reunion is what any HSM fan could dream for, it was a little disappointing former Troy Bolton actor, Zac Efron, could not make it. One of the most classic childhood movie couples was, without a doubt, Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez.
However, Efron is busy working hard for his new movie, Dirty Grandpa, but still wished he could have been at the reunion with his childhood friends.
Efron made efforts to spend time with members of the cast throughout the years. Efron and Tisdale recently hung out while doing the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge together, and the actor claims that he keeps in touch with the other members from time to time.
The reunion sparked the idea of another High School Musical to be made. While there is no evidence of that currently happening, Efron would be more than willing to be a part of another HSM movie.
“We’re all thinking about it. I continue to see all the guys from High School. Every time we do…there’s just this look between us. It’s so cool because we never forget a single moment of that experience,” said Efron, according to E! Online.
So, Wildcats lovers, keep your eyes and ears open for any news of a reunion project at East High, as it is possible. It will not only be a great memory for fans, but a great final way to bid farewell to East High before the cast begins “breaking free” for good.
