What To Do Over Christmas Break
December 23, 2015
Christmas time is one of the most awaited times of the year. Decorations line the streets, and Christmas music fills the air. Cookies are being made, and presents are being wrapped.
However, with Christmas time comes winter break. Instead of spending your break in boredom, here’s a list of things to do over winter break:
Bake Cookies
The holiday season wouldn’t be complete with a batch of freshly made Christmas cookies. Grab an apron and your rolling pin, and get ready to bake.
From sugar to gingerbread cookies, the options are endless. If you’re not sure what kind to make, here are just a few (strong) suggestions:
These pecan cookies with creamy brown sugar frosting can do no wrong.
Chocolate and peppermint in one cookie? Yes please.
These snowball inspired cookies will probably taste better than actual snowballs, but look just about the same.
Watch Movies
The ABC Family network has a 25 Days of Christmas special that is perfect for Christmas Eve and the days leading up to it. On Christmas Eve, they will be playing movies such as National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and Elf.
However, you may not be able to watch Christmas movies the entire break. There are still a wide variety of movies that can help keep you entertained during this break.
From Stars Wars: The Force Awakens to The Breakfast Club, there’s something for everybody out there.
Shopping
Sure, you may have just emptied your wallet spending money on your family and friends Christmas gifts. However, many stores have some great sales after Christmas.
Getting a head start on next year’s Christmas is never a bad idea, and when is a better time to start then when there are a bunch of sales?
JcPenney’s and Macy’s are two stores known for lowering their prices after Christmas. It might be worth checking out their sales in order to save money for Christmas next year.
Spend Time With Your Family and Friends
The holiday season is really all about spending time with your loved ones. Make sure that in between the gift giving and the hot cocoa drinking, you spend time with the people surrounding you.
There’s no better gift than to have your family and friends by your side.
Regardless of how you spend your holidays and your break this year, be sure to stay safe and have fun. Happy holidays!
