The Field Hockey team added three wins to their record to keep them undefeated, 5-0. The Warriors played a night game at Dover on Monday, September 14, hosted York Suburban on Tuesday, September 16, and finished their week at Eastern on Friday, September 18.

The team has been preparing for the season since June, and senior Emily Houska believes that it has paid off, especially this past week.

“We have worked really hard this past week from conditioning to shooting drills, which really helped us win our games,” Houska said.

Senior captain Camryn Burk has been playing field hockey since 7th grade and will continue her career playing Division II field hockey at Limestone College in South Carolina. Burk feels like Monday night’s game was the highlight of the week. The Warriors beat Dover 9-0 under the Eagles’ lights.

“So far it was our best game. We all worked well together, and it obviously showed with the number of goals we scored,” Burk said.

On Tuesday, the Warriors added another victory against York Suburban, beating the Trojans 6-1 on the team’s home turf.

“Everyone is strong in their positions, and we all have something to benefit to our team and the game,” Houska said.

The team finished the week beating Eastern in a close game, 2-1. Burk scored on a stroke to lead the Warriors to victory.

After this past week of three successful wins, the team is feeling confident going into another week of three games. The Warriors will start division games on Monday at Gettysburg, home against West York on Tuesday, and away at Kennard Dale on Friday.

“Going into Monday, we need to continue to practice hard, stay confident, and just compete,” Burk said.

Burk believes that the team can win the division title, compete in counties, and make it into districts.
